I have a bird bath in my front yard. I have a particularly noisy willy wag tail that comes to visit and have a bath, but other birds also visit. This is what happened today. I looked outside and two rainbow lorikeets were having a bath.
You can see at the very bottom of the image dogs ears. They really really wanted to go out and say hello but I kept stopping them with a harsh ‘stay’.
They are native bird that are very previlent in my neighbourhood. They come to visit now and again and in the mornings fly past in flocks and make one hell of a racket.
The colours of these birds are so beautiful. They are very iconic.
They had a third one pirch and drink until all three flew off when spooked by a noise.
After they flew off the boys ran out to inspect the bath and have a drink and make sure no damage was done.
